Who’s that we see leading a rabble of comedians our way? It’s only next weeks Zing Comedy Club headliner Debra-Jane Appelby. #LincolnComedy

Debra-Jane is winner of both The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Funny Women Comedy Awards. She’s appeared on the BBC’s 28 Acts in 28 Minutes has been a guest on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and had a number of appearances on BBC Radio 5 Live. But on 27th January she’s appearing for free at Lincoln’s LPAC, so of course being the regular reviewers at the night AltLinc wanted to see what we were letting themselves in for and we asked her a few interrogatory questions…

 

1. What is your full name?
Debra-Jane Appelby
 
2. How old are you?
How dare you ask that of a lady (47)
 
3. Where were you born?
Huddersfield in the People’s Republic of Yorkshire
 
4. Who is your inspiration?
Everyone from Morecambe and Wise to Doug Stanhope.
 
5. How did you get into comedy?
As a mid-life crisis.
 
6. Where was your most memorable performance, and what made it so memorable?
Trafalgar Square for the NHS 60th Anniversary. It was in Trafalgar Square baby; to anywhere between 3000 and 6000 people. And part of a worthy and fantastic celebration.
 
7. Would you rather go back in time and meet your ancestors or forward in time and met your great great great grandchildren?
Definitely forward but i’d probably avoid the family and just go to the nearest Apple store. Get myself a nice holographic iphone99
